The mortal remains of Ghana’s longest serving President, Jerry John Rawlings will be buried today after days of lying in State.
Conspicuously missing from the funeral activities of the late Statesman is his own tribe chiefs.
Yesterday, we witnessed full Asante culture on display as the representative of the Asantehene stormed the AICC premises to pay his respects on behalf of the Overlord of Asante.
This led to questions been asked as to how Asante culture was being displayed at the funeral of an Ewe man.
Reacting to this on radio, former National Women’s Organizer of the NDC, Anita Desoso claimed that the Ewe chiefs are angry because the wife of the late President did not involve them in the funeral activities.
According to her, Nana Konadu who is just a wife is acting as if she is the only family member, hence the refusal of the Chiefs to attend the funeral.
