Ghanaian dancehall act, Theophilus Nii Arday Otoo known by stage name Epixode has finally explained the reason behind his arrest last week by the Tema police and has said it was a case of misunderstanding and temper related issues.
The dancehall act was in an interview with Zylofon Fm’s Sammy Flex on Tuesday when he said this.
Some days ago, a video went viral involving Epixode exchanging harsh words with police in the deep of the night and even handcuffed and being dragged into a police vehicle. the video caused a stir on social media for a while with people wondering what led to his arrest.
Epixode on clearing the air said he was returning from Tema with his team at around 11pm last week Friday when he and his team was stopped by the Tema Police for driving in a ‘DV’ plate. Since he wasn’t the one driving but his manger, he didn’t approach the police but was in the car observing what was going on till he realized his mager was being mishandled by the police. He added that he coudn’t just sit and watch since it was his manager and that led to his arrest. “I was sitting in the car but I couldn’t watch because he was there because of me so I came out. Sometimes when stuff like this happen, tempers go high”, he said.
Confirming if it was his fault for getting arrested, he said he got angry over the issue which could have been solved amicably by both parties. “At a point in time i lost control of my temper.”
