Biography
Emma Coronel Aispuro was born in San Francisco, California in 1989, the daughter of Sinaloa Cartel lieutenant Ines Coronel Barreras.
She was raised in La Angostura, Durango, Mexico, and she met El Chapo at a 2007 beauty pageant and agreed to marry him that same day.

In 2012, she gave birth to twins at Lancaster, California, leaving El Chapo’s name off the birth certificate due to his $5 million bounty in the United States.

First Arrest
On 22 February 2014, she and her husband were arrested in a Mexican Army, Mexican Navy, and Mexican Federal Police raid on the Hotel Miramar in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, and, while Coronel’s arrest was routine and she was set free shortly after, El Chapo was sent to a high-security prison from which he would briefly escape in 2015 before being recaptured and extradited.
Second Arrest
News reaching us from the US Department of Justice indicates that she has been arrested Monday at Dulles International Airport, and currently facing a charge of participating in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, and marijuana for importation to the U.S.
