NPP Member of Parliament for the Sekondi constituency, Honourable Andrew Egyapa Mercer has made a bold declaration concerning the ongoing election petition hearing at the Supreme Court.
In an attempt to shoot down the arguments raised by some NDC supporters over Jean Mensah’s cross-examination, he indicated that the Court is being guided by law in every decision and must be appreciated.
In what he described as a disappointment, he registered his resentment over the widespread criticisms of the Supreme Court by the NDC members.
According to Egyapa Mercer, he is optimistic in the proceedings which is apparently exposing every lies in the petition.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen show hosted by Osei Bonsu, Egyapa Mercer lampooned Tsatsu Tsikata over his long lectures in court. He said; “I have heard many arguments on grounds of accountability. What I hear people suggesting is that the EC performs public function the Court ought to allow her to get into the box.”
“You want an inquisition? He should take a step back and should not do that in Court again! You should seek another forum to question her. You want the Court to scrap your initial case and convert her into inquisition. Have you ever heard of this before?”
