Debtor Tied Up By His Creditor Over Unpaid $11,000+ Debt Rescued By Police

Oluchi Okoye aka PACA, a young creditor, was arrested by Denton Police Station officers for tying his debtor, Reuben Alozie, to a stake over an unpaid N4.6m ($11,000+) debt.

From September 22nd to September 23rd, the suspect tied the victim to a stick with ropes at No. 29, Abeokuta Street, Ebute Metta, Lagos before being rescued by police.

After several attempts to recover his money from the victim failed, the suspect resorted to self-help, according to the suspect. The victim, he claims, has the money but has refused to pay him back.

The suspect’s arrest was made possible by a complaint filed at the station by the victim’s wife, Angela Reuben, who reported that the suspect who held her husband hostage had deprived him of his liberty.

Following the arrest, CP Hakeem Odumosu, the Commissioner of Police, directed that the suspect be transferred to the Command’s Tactical team for thorough investigation and prosecution.

Confirming the incident, the state police command’s spokesperson, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, said the state Commissioner of Police has warned people against taking the law into their own hands instead of seeking justice through legal means…
