Dax William Rodriguez have been arrested by Titusville police for threatening a woman with a gun.
Rodriguez was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Kidnapping, Armed Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Violation of Probation, Theft, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Witness Tampering.
According to a Titusville spokesperson, TPD officers responded to a 911 call in reference to a man with a gun at a residence located on the 3000 block of Willis Drive on Wednesday, May 10, at approximately 4 p.m.
“The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was threatening an adult female victim with a firearm at the residence.
The victim was able to escape to a neighbor’s home and call the police,” said the TPD spokesperson.
“Police arrived on the scene and secured a perimeter around the residence. However, the suspect had already left the initial scene and proceeded to flee the city limits at a high rate of speed in a stolen vehicle while failing to comply with multi-agency law enforcement-initiated traffic stops.”
Police used tactical driving maneuvers to stop the suspect on State Road 50 in east Orange County. The suspect’s firearm was located by police in the front seat of the stolen vehicle.
Rodriguez was booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond at 7:29 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
This remains an ongoing investigation and the suspect is possibly facing charges from an additional law enforcement agency.
