A 28-year-old man is dead after police said he was shot to death in Rocky Mount late Saturday night.
According to the Rocky Mount Police Department, officers responded at around 11:51 p.m. to the intersection of S. Grace Street and Clyde Street following a ShotSpotter activation.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a man lying unresponsive with a gunshot wound, police said.
Despite life-saving measures, the victim ultimately died from his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene, Rocky Mount police said.
On Sunday morning, police identified the victim as 28-year-old Daquan Williams of Rocky Mount.
Police said the shooting remains under investigation.
