Dancehall & Hip Hop Songs Made In Ghana Are ‘Useless’ To Europeans – Bisa Kdei (+ Video) #iamghlinks

Among all the music genres (Hip Life, Hip Hop, Dancehall, RnB, Reggae, etc), High Life genre happens to be Ghana’s indigenous music. Ghanaians gave birth to High Life genre, therefore, artistes who do High Life are well respected because they seek to continue am aspect of Ghana’s material culture.

As a result, Bisa Kdei, a renowned contemporary High Life artiste has stated categorically that Ghanaian musicians who’re doing other genres of music aside High Life are not recognized in the outside world. He made this assertion in and interview with QuooFante, host of ‘AroundTown Entertainment’ on Kessben TV in Kumasi.

“I’m a High Life artiste. I’m not saying doing Dancehall is bad as an artiste but High Life is ours. You can’t do Hip Hop, Dancehall, others, better than those who originated it. We’ve to push our own – High Life to those in the outside world. Truth be told, I’m recognized outside Ghana more than my colleagues who’re doing other genres,” Bisa revealed.

On records, Bisa Kdei isn’t the only artistes to have said this as veteran musician Gyedu Blay Amboley on several occasions have crashed Shatta Wale over Dancehall king tag. To him, how on earth can someone be king of something that doesn’t belongs to him or her? Perhaps Bisa Kdei line of reasoning is synonyms to the veteran musician.
