The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating an early morning homicide on Hilton Head Island Saturday, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
Shortly before 2:24am Saturday BCSD was alerted to a shooting at Fiddlers Cove on Hilton Head Island.
Deputies arrived on scene and found one deceased victim, later identified by the Beaufort County Coroners Office as 25-year-old Cory Devon McKie, Jr. of Bluffton.
25-year-old Charles Quincy Barron, also of Bluffton, was arrested on charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Barron was booked at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
The investigation is still ongoing as of publication. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Corporal Ray at the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
