Christiana Awuni is resolute in her decision not to join her fellow Christians in church to worship God.

The filmmaker said she will pray in her room rather than attend anyone’s church.

When reminded by Abeiku Sanatana on UTV that Reverend Obofour gifted her a car, Christiana Awuni responded saying that she thanks God for the gift but she isn’t obligated to go to his church.

Christiana Awuni indicated that the man of God was impressed by her work as an actress so he decided to award her.

The actress in an earlier interview said she feels that it is a waste of time to go to church.

The film star revealed that she is a Christian but she is against the concept of attending a church service to worship God.

Christiana Awuni believes so long as when she prays to God, he listens just as he listens to a pastor who is a fellow human being, she will not waste her time going to church.

“I’m a Christian. I’ve taken Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Saviour. I pray but I don’t go to church. I decided not to go. I have been to a lot of churches,” she said.

“To me, there is no need going to church because I know that if I go on my knees and pray, God will listen and he listens. In my view, the pastor is a human being like me. The same way God uses him, he can also use me so why should I waste my time in church,” she added.

The actress cited the current rise of controversies involving pastors as another reason for her decision to do away with church.
