Chasity Barnard, a 24 year old preschool teacher in Muskogee county was arrested for child abuse last month.
According to FOX23, Court documents allege Chasity Barnard bit a 2-year-old student on the finger while working at a daycare on Aug. 24.
A 2020 Facebook post by Muskogee County Head Start (a federally-funded preschool program operated by Green Country Behavioral Health) confirms that Barnard worked for the school’s Early Head Start Program.
On the phone today, the Muskogee County Head Start Program director told FOX23 they could not confirm or deny the allegations, but that Barnard is no longer with MCHS.
Because of her tribal status, the case will be handed to federal authorities.
