Lynchburg Police said a man is in custody Monday evening following the shooting death of a 19-year-old in Lynchburg.
Police said they also found the body of a woman when they conducted a welfare check on the suspect’s home.
The incident happened around 3:45 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Fairlea Court.
LPD said 19-year-old Cash Gaudio was shot and killed.33-year-old Nathaniel Lee Pridemore, of Lynchburg, has been charged in the incident.
As the investigation unfolded, Lynchburg Police said it determined a welfare check at Pridemore’s home was necessary.
When officers conducted that check in the 1400 block of Tunbridge Road, a woman was found deceased.
LPD issued the following charges against Pridemore:
- second-degree murder
- use of a firearm
- felony child endangerment
- discharge of a firearm in the city
- discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle
- reckless handling and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Police said the child involved in the incident is safe and will be reunited with family.
The department said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
