Regardless of the monetary benefits, Efya is resolute in her decision to stay away from partisan politics.
She noted that publicly declaring support for a political party could either help or destroy one’s career.
“I cannot create a campaign song for any party and I don’t get involved with politics. Sometimes it could end well other times it doesn’t. It could also affect your brand so I don’t really get involved with that,” she told GhanaWeb TV.

However, Grace Omaboe, Mr. Beautiful, and others have lamented the grave effect of publicly campaigning for a political party.
