- Burna Boy won Best International Act at BET Awards ahead of AKA from South Africa, Aya Nakamura from France, Dave from UK, Dosseh from France, Giggs from UK and Mr. Eazi from Nigeria
Nigerian singer born Damini Ogulu and known in the showbiz circles as Burna Boy has won the award for the Best International Act at the 2019 Black Entertainment Television Awards (BET) which came off on Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. USA.
The award will add him to the list of winners of that category from Nigeria such as Wizkid, Davido, and Ice Prince.
The Best International Act category was keenly competed by AKA from South Africa, Aya Nakamuraa from France, Dave from UK, Dosseh from France, Giggs from UK and Mr. Eazi from Nigeria.
The BET awards scheme is in the 19th year since its inception and recognizes the black community of entertainers and sports men/women from the United States of America and quite recently, other parts of the world. Popular names in the hip-pop, rnb and sports circles such as Cadi B, Tyler Perry, Beyonce, Taraji P Hanson, Steve Curry and a host of many others were in attendance at this year’s awards.
Cardi B opened the performances and won big, alongside Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Steve Curry and others.
