Breakdown of the top GFA officials caught in the Anas exposé

6th June 2018 was the most expecting day of this month. Anas published his latest exposé centred on corruption in the Ghana Football Association and political corruption in relation to Ghana Football yesterday.

The video, premiered by Anas at the Conference Centre in Accra, involved over 120 sports personalities who had engaged in one form of corruption or another.

Over 100 referees and match commissioners were caught receiving bribes to influence one match or another. Below is the breakdown of the top 12 officials captured in the exposé.

1. Kwesi Nyantakyi, GFA president

In the video, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi is heard telling the potential investor to start something on his own (Currently unknown what the topic was about) and later they will send money to some ‘big men’ and they will take over the whole country.

2. Abdulai Alhassan – GFA chairman, Northern Region

A right-hand man of Nyantakyi, Abdulai was caught scheming with the GFA president to pocket 25% of GFA sponsorship deals. He was also in on Nyantakyi’s plan to bribe top government officials in exchange for lucrative government contracts.

3. Eddie Doku, GFA Chairman, Greater Accra

Eddie Doku who happens to be the chairman of the team’s management committee took a huge unspecified amount from the undercover agent to give Patrick more play time.

From the video, Eddie Doku who is also the chairman of the appointments committee of the Ghana Football Association took the money and divided it into two.

4. Sannie Daara, GFA communications director

It emerged that Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Saani Daara accepted money to fix a player in the Black Stars. The money we now know came from agents of Anas’ Tiger Eye PI to influence the selection of a player into the Black Stars not knowing their real identity.

5. Kofi Manu, vice-chairman of the Player Status Committee of the GFA

Kofi Manu was caught receiving money to influence player selection to the national team.

6. Leanier Addy, match commissioner, GFA executive committee member

Many never expected to see the Leanier Addy the old woman cherish in the Executive committee who last year even revealed she is ready to contest for the GFA president to stoop as low as to accept GHS300 bribe.

7. Joseph Wellington, vice-chairman referees appointment committee

He was captured taking bribes to influence referee selections.

8. Mr Annor, member referee’s review committee
He was captured receiving bribes to influence matches.

9. Umar Teni, member of GFA referees appointment committee
He took bribes to influence referee selections.

10. M.N Mohammed, match commissioner
He took bribes to influence the outcome of a local football match.

11. Thomas Numoo, member referees appointment committee
He took bribes to influence referee selections and outcome of matches.

12. A.A Lawal, GFA chairman, Eastern Region 
He was caught in attempts to illegally influence matches.
