Bobby Knight, one of the most successful and controversial college basketball coaches of all time, died on November 1, 2023 at the age of 83.
Knight was known for his fiery temper and demanding coaching style, but he was also a mentor to many of his players, who went on to successful careers in the NBA and beyond.
Bobby Knight was also a loving father to his two sons, Pat and Tim.
Patrick followed his father’s footsteps and became involved in basketball.
Let’s take a look at who Bobby Knight’s children are.
Pat Knight
Pat Knight ( born September 21, 1970 – age 53 years) played college basketball at Indiana University under his father.
He was a two-time All-Big Ten selection and helped lead the Hoosiers to the 1987 NCAA Championship.
After graduating from college, Pat Knight began a coaching career.
He served as an assistant coach at several schools before becoming the head coach of the Wisconsin Blast of the International Basketball Association and the Columbus Cagerz of the United States Basketball League.
Tim Knight
Tim Knight is hardly a clone of his father as he had no interest in coaching, and he gave up playing the game long ago.
Tim only played college basketball at Stanford where he graduated in 1986 with a degree in economics.
He served as a vice president of Bob Knight Enterprises.
In that position, he helps set up and run his father’s camps, clinics, television shows, commercials and book deals.
