Black Stars defender, Joseph Attamah Larweh on a season long loan from his parent club, Istanbul Basaksehir.
Attamah Larweh, who came off in the 58th minute for his parent club on Tuesday, could not help the Turkish side after they failed to secure champions league qualification.
The Turkish club was eliminated from the Champions League group stages by Greek heavyweight Olympiacos.
A statement from Rizespor said;
“Çaykur Rizespor transferred Joseph Attamah from İstanbul Başakşehir FK for rent,”a statement by Rizespor read.
” Attamah who has played in 79 official matches in Başakşehir for the last 3 seasons and lastly 59 minutes in the UEFA Champions League match against Olympiacos on August 13.”
Attamah has in recent years found playing time hard to come by at Istanbul. Making 11 appearances only in the Turkish Superlig last season.
The former Tema Youth youngster, who featured in the Ghana premier league for the Tema based club from 2011 to 2014, making 15 appearances.
His brilliant performances earned him a spot on Ghana’s U-20 team, the Black Satellites.
He later got a call up to the World Youth championships in 2013, where he was part of the Ghana team that finished 3rd place in the tournament.
After the campaign, Attamah Larweh was transfered from Tema Youth to Adana Demispor.
After 69 appearances and 5 goals, he was on the move again 2 years later as Istanbul came calling and he left to join them.
The national team head coach, Coach Akwasi Appiah, impressed with his development gave him a call up to the Black Stars in 2017 and he since has been a regular feature in the Stars team.
He was part of the 23 man Ghana squad that represented the nation at the just ended African Cup of Nations In Egypt.
