Whether you agree with us or not, Stonebwoy is one of the finest, if not the finest musicians to come out of Ghana and put the country on the map. Considering the accolades the dancehall artiste has been decorated with as well as the international collaborations he has managed to secure for himself as an artiste over the few years of his music career, it makes him the envy of most artistes.
The celebrated artiste, having recognized this has affirmed that at this point in his career, he doesn’t see any competition in Ghana.
He made this comment whiles headlining the Legon SRC artiste night organized by Watsup tv at the campus of University Of Ghana on Saturday.
As sighted by ghlinks.com.gh on instagram, the baafira hit maker whiles performing cut his performance to talk to his fans about the need for putting up a united front in music so as to sell Ghana positively to the rest of the world. He emphasized that musicians need to stay united and work together in peace to so Ghanaian music goes far, stating that other nationals take advantage of the division to penetrate the market.
Spicing up his rather short speech, the Reggae and dancehall artiste said he has reached a stage in his music career where he doesn’t see any competition in Ghana. Going further, he said he is the only reggae and dancehall artiste from Ghana and even Africa to win the prestigious BET’s and very recently the Nickeledeon awards, an achievement that no colleague of his dong his genre has been able to attain.
He asked Ghanaians to be proud of it, because that achievement alone was bragging rights for every Ghanaian who understands reggae and dancehall music. “At this point in my career, I be one of the dancehall artiste in Africa that hold it for Ghana. I don’t see no competition take it or leave it. The only dancehall artiste to win BET for Ghana. The only dancehall artiste to win the Nickeledon for Ghana.”
