Ashanti Macon, 30, shot, killed at restaurant in Macon

A woman is dead after a shooting in west Macon on Tuesday night.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, it happened just before 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Montpelier Avenue and Pio Nono Avenue at the Little Caesars.

They say deputies responded to the area to investigate a report of a person shot and found a 30-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries sustained.

Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones says the victim has been identified as Ashanti Macon.

The sheriff’s office says the shooting is under investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
