Orlando, FL — A disturbing video has gone viral on social media showing a Black project manager, Antavis Johnson ( AJ), being racially harassed and threatened by a white couple while working in an Orlando neighborhood.
The incident, caught on video, has sparked widespread outrage and online investigations into the couple’s identity.
“I Was Just Doing My Job” — AJ Shares His Story
AJ told The Shade Room that he was working as a project manager in the area, going door-to-door to inform residents about upcoming neighborhood upgrades — not selling anything.
He says he knocked on a home, and a white woman, now identified online as Cheryl Ann Pyles, answered.
She reportedly called for her husband, Steven Edwin Wiley, who then rushed outside and immediately became aggressive.
“He came running out, furious,” AJ said.
“Before I could even walk off their porch, he started yelling racial slurs, calling me the N-word, and shouting, ‘Get off my property! Get out of my neighborhood!’”
AJ says he began recording out of fear for his safety. In the video, Wiley can be heard yelling violently and threatening to “hang” AJ if he returned.
AJ Says He Feared for His Life
“I was scared for my life,” AJ explained.
“I wasn’t there to sell anything. I was just doing my job — providing information about the upgrades.”
The couple reportedly claimed to have a “No Soliciting” sign, but AJ emphasized he was not soliciting.
Internet Users Claim to Identify the Couple
Following the video’s spread, online users began identifying the couple. They claim the man is Steven Edwin Wiley, and the woman is Cheryl Ann Pyles, who may be associated with a medical facility in the Orlando area.
While these names have been widely circulated on social media, they have not been officially confirmed by authorities.
