On 14th December 2022, a woman identified as Amy Brogdon Anderson shot and killed two police officers before killing herself at a Motel 6 in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
According to authorities, officers in Bay St. Louis were responding to a call for a welfare check made to the Bay St. Louis Police Department from the motel, which is located along a stretch of interstate Highway 90 that runs through the Gulf Coast city.
The officers arrived at the Motel 6 before 4:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday and engaged Amy Brogdon Anderson in a conversation,
She was sitting in a parked vehicle with a female minor.
The officers had talked to Anderson for about a half hour, during which a call was placed to child protective services, according to the preliminary investigation.
Shortly after that, Anderson started shooting at the officers leading to their death.

The slain officers were identified as Branden Estorffe, 23, and Steven Robin, 34, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety confirmed in a statement.

Amy Brogdon Anderson was a 43 year old veterinarian who used to work in Vicksburg, Miss.
The Vicksburg Post did a profile on her in 2005 in which she discussed pursuing her career.
According to the Sun-Herald, at the time of the police shooting, Anderson, was working as a veterinarian in Ocean Springs.
She grew up in Vicksburg, according to the Sun-Herald.
On Facebook, Anderson described herself as “Emergency Veterinarian, Small animal medicine and surgery at MedVet Mobile” and “Veterinarian, Small Animal at Lakeview Animal Hospital.”
She lived in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
