The Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress’ 2020 campaign, James Agyenim-Boateng has said president Nana Akufo Addo will do nothing about the ongoing brutalities in Nigeria because he is a tyrant.
Nigeria has been in the news across the world after what started as a peaceful nationwide protest against police brutality some 2 weeks ago has turned out to be bloody. Military opened fire on some citizens on Tuesday night and some lives have been lost in the process. The city of Lagos has also gone on a curfew.
Taking to his official twitter page to make his statement, Agyenim-Boateng noted that calling on Nana Akufo Addo who doubles as the chairman of ECOWAS to condemn the acts in Nigeria will amount to nothing, stating that he has closed down radio stations of opposition parties since assuming power and that in itself makes him a tyrant.
“Don’t expect much from ECOWAS chairman Akufo-Addo. He is a tyrant who has closed down many radio stations, clamped down on free expression and unleashed riot police on law students who were asking for more admissions into Ghana School of Law”.
