Biography
Afenyo-Markin is a Member of the Parliament of Ghana for the Effutu constituency, Central Region.
Having risen through the political ranks as an Assemblyman and a Presiding Member of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, Alexander was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency in 2012 and in 2016.
In parliament, he served on various committees including Finance, Defense and Interior, and Public Accounts.
He is also a Member of Ghana’s ECOWAS Parliament Delegation due to his interest in international politics with a focus on foreign policy and its implication on national development.
He is also a part-time lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and lectures Contract Negotiations at the Post Graduate level.
Education
He studied at the Ghana School of Law for his bar where he qualified as a Barrister-at-Law and accordingly called to the Ghana Bar.
He holds a Bachelor of Law from Buckingham University in UK and a Master of Arts in International Politics and Security Studies from Bradford University, UK.

He is Married to Dianne Markin with children and loves to play Golf and Table Tennis.
