Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed has admitted to looking over his shoulder in awareness of Inter Allies striker Victorien Adebayor in the GHPL golden boot race.
Yahaya Mohammed scored a brace in Aduana Stars’ abysmal 5-2 away defeat at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf park against Liberty Professionals.
Speaking to Asempa FM, Yahaya, who turns 32 on this day the 17th of February, 2020 said;
“To be honest with you, he gave me a sleepless night on Saturday because I was leading him and he overtook me by a two-goal margin and I had to do better”, Yahaya said.
Victorien Adebayor and Yahaya Mohammed were both tied on 8 goals before Matchweek 10 kicked off. Adebayor then recorded a brace on Sarturday, in Inter Allies’ 3-1 away win at the Berekum Golden City park.
This, Yahaya said was a worry to him seeing his competitor take two steps ahead of him on the eve of his own matchweek 10 game against Liberty Professionals.
Yahaya went on to bag a brace of his own as he goes back to joint top on the top scorers list in the 2019/2020 Ghana premier League.
The two now lead the way ahead of Prince Adu Kwabena of Bechem United and Prince Opoku Agyeman of Medeama Sporting Club.
