The Ghana Football Association has announced 5 nominees for the NASCO player of the month award for the month of February.
The player of the month award was introduced this year by the GFA in partnership with NASCO.
The nominees this year include Victorien Adebayor of Inter Allies, Ibrahim Sulley of Accra Great Olympics, Bemjamin Bernard Boateng of Elmina Sharks, Caleb Amankwah of Aduana Stars and Salifu Ibrahim of Eleven Wonders.
Salifu Ibrahim and Caleb Amankwah make the list on the back of impressive performances for their teams.
Caleb Amankwah registered 2 man of the match awards as Aduana Stars remain top of the Ghana Premier League table. The combative centre back helped aduana stars record 2 clean sheets in back to back home games against Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak.
Ibrahim Sulley has also been in some fine form for Accra Great Olympics. The former Black Starlet winger is slowly finding his feet in this season’s Ghana Premier League.
The top scorers of the month are Benjamin Bernard Boateng and the star of the season so far, Victorien Adebayor. Boateng scored 5 goals in the month under review including a hattrick against Berekum Chelsea and the winner in the fierce regional derby against Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs.
Victorien made the headlines in the month of February after toppling veteran striker Yahaya Mohammed to lead the goal king chart. The Nigerien international scored 7 goals in February, including a brace in the away win at Berekum Chelsea and is a frontrunner for this award.
The winner takes home a NASCO television set and a personalised mini trophy.
