Gerald Muse, 45, died early Sunday morning after he was shot outside of a shopping complex in North Nashville.
Metro Nashville Police Department officials said they are pursuing “active leads” in the case.
Multiple people in the area reported hearing shots fired from the parking lot on Ewing Drive about 3 a.m. A short time later, police said they found Muse in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, and they pronounced him dead at the scene.
Law enforcement also discovered a ski mask and a stolen handgun near Muse’s body.
Police have not released any information about potential suspects, and a Sunday morning statement from MNPD said the motive for the shooting is “unknown at this time.”
