Police in Pine Bluff are investigating after they said a man was killed in an overnight shooting.
According to the Pine Bluff Police Department, officers were on an unrelated call when they heard gunshots around 1 a.m. Monday.
Investigators said they began searching in the area and found a man lying near The Arbor on Fir Apartments.
Police said the victim, later identified as 37-year-old Timothy Cannady, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers said that 22-year-old Marravius Keshawn Jackson identified himself as the shooter and told dispatchers that he had left the scene.
After returning to the scene, police said that Jackson was taken into custody.
Jackson is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail, where he is facing charges of first-degree murder.
