HINESVILLE, GEORGIA — A quiet Tuesday night turned tragic after a young woman was found shot in a parked car in Hinesville.
Police have identified the victim as 27-year-old Kretia Clancy. She was discovered near the intersection of Strickland Road and EG Miles Parkway, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.
Emergency responders rushed Kretia to Memorial Hospital, where doctors tried to save her life. Sadly, she passed away during surgery.
According to police, early evidence shows that Kretia may have known the person who shot her. The case is now being investigated as a homicide.
So far, no arrests have been made.
